To the Editor, Re: Boycott

Letter sent to The New York Times

To the Editor:

With several public schools now engaged in field testing for private company McGraw Hill (City Parents Boycotting Added Tests at 2 Schools, January 23), hundreds of fourth graders will have endured seven days of testing out of only fifteen school days since the new year began. In his relentless quest for more and more test score data, Chancellor Klein seems to have forgotten that our children are complex human beings who need stimulating and creative learning opportunities, not dreary days filling in bubbles on standardized tests.
